Two years ago, it took my son three days to open his Christmas presents. Since then we have been extra mindful of how many presents we have brought for him, so as to not overwhelm him.
This year he did a great job of opening presents and not just his own! He found one of granny’s in another room and opened that, and then he found one of his grandad’s which we quickly had to re-wrap in tin foil (we had no wrapping paper left)! Both unwrapped presents were tossed aside as they were ‘boring old people presents‘.
While his unwrapping was super-efficient, his favorite gift this year was a packet of balloons that he found and that had been left over from a birthday. We have had multiple hours of balloon fun today: blowing them up and then letting them go; bouncing on them; chasing after them. I love to hear him laugh and this was a good laughing day!
